Noval Suction — developed with surgeons at Akershus University Hospital
Our first innovation project takes on one of surgery’s oldest everyday problems: blood obscuring the surgical field. The Noval Suction tip was invented by surgeons at Akershus University Hospital, and Aprikos Medical holds the exclusive licence to the patented technology. We have taken it from concept to working prototypes — engineered in Norway, now in live testing, and headed for global launch through our distributor network.

Where the evidence stands
User testing from September 2026 and a veterinary trial at Fredrikstad Dyrehospital — Norway’s largest animal hospital — in 2H 2026. Expected MDR approval Q4 2027 opens the human market, with global roll-out through our distributor network in 2028.
Next step — evaluation in veterinary surgery
Following initial presentations of the Noval Suction Tip and its ex-situ and in-vitro results, the next step is evaluation during relevant veterinary surgical procedures.
Fredrikstad Dyrehospital and experienced veterinary surgeon Elena Regine Moldal have agreed to evaluate the product, providing valuable feedback ahead of a potential veterinary market launch.
